Portrait drawings displayed on this site were created using hard pastels on best quality colored paper. Based on the Renaissance style of drawing known as chiaroscuro or, literally light and dark, I create pictures that tend to be monochromatic with the color of the paper dominating.

The drawings were based on reference photographs and created by hand, the old fashioned way. No computer applications or hardware were involved in their production. This list is intended as a strong indication of prices but is not fixed. It is very important to me to provide the greatest possible satisfaction to my customers. Consult me directly to get a price based on your specific requirements. All prices quoted in US Dollars Payment becomes due only after the client has viewed an images of the picture and is thoroughly satisfied with the result. I will happily work with a client to make whatever revisions are deemed nessessary. If the client chooses to cancel the commission they may do so at any time. In all cases, I as the artist retain copyright of the portrait and on cancellation may dispose or display it as I see fit. On approvel palment should be made by following the paypal link for credit card payments. (Or by check on arrangement with the artist.) The portrait will be shipped to the client as soon as payment is confirmed. Drawings from life in the studio can be arranged if you are in the San Diego area.
